Morpho Campus Review: Can a Manufacturing Course Actually Prepare You for Building a Product?

The team behind Morpho Campus has launched more than 2,000 products. They have helped headphones raise over $1 million on Kickstarter, supported a Shark Tank deal worth $500,000, and worked with companies that reached $70 million valuations.

Now they are sharing what they learned.

Morpho Campus is a 10+ module online course that walks founders through the full manufacturing journey, from initial idea to factory-ready product plan.

What Is Morpho Campus?

Morpho Campus is an online course from Morpho, a product design and manufacturing company with 14 years of experience and more than 2,000 products launched. The course walks founders through the full manufacturing journey in more than ten modules, from early concept work through shipping the final product.

The structure follows a 12-month path, telling founders what to do next, month by month. It covers research before you build, development phases, common mistakes, how to choose a manufacturer, and what happens after production ends.

The instructor is Josh Fairbairn, Morpho CEO and company founder. He built Morpho from scratch after dropping out of university, moving to China, and learning manufacturing the expensive way.

“I lost $40,000 to a supplier who vanished off Alibaba,” Fairbairn says in the course introduction.

“I ended up in a factory in Dongguan with the police on the wrong side. I helped a friend launch a product on Shark Tank and found out seven percent of the units were defective after orders shipped. I tell these stories because every one taught me something you will not find in any book. That is what is inside Campus.”

What Makes This Different From Other Online Courses?

The manufacturing course space is not empty. There are videos on prototyping. There are guides on finding suppliers. There are templates for product development timelines.

What Morpho Campus offers is specificity. The course was built by people who have done this for real clients, for real money, with real consequences when it goes wrong. The curriculum reflects what Morpho actually does with its clients, documented for someone doing it for the first time.

Development is where most hardware businesses fail. Fairbairn identifies ten common mistakes in the course: asking too many questions without making decisions, hiring design agencies that produce beautiful renderings with zero consideration for manufacturability, partnering with the wrong people because due diligence was skipped, and failing to audit factories so founders only hear what factories want them to hear.

“CAD files that are not manufacturable are the same as a pretty picture,” Fairbairn says. “You cannot build anything from that.”

What You Actually Get

The course covers the entire journey. Founders learn why research before building matters, how to develop a rough blueprint, what the development phases actually involve, and how to choose a manufacturer without getting burned. There is a module specifically on the ten ways development goes wrong. Another covers logistics and freight after production ends.

The before and after framing on the landing page is direct. Before the course, founders know they want to build a physical product but the process feels confusing. They do not know what questions to ask or in what order. They spend hours researching suppliers and timelines without gaining certainty.

After the course, founders have a clear 12-month manufacturing plan with next steps. They understand scope, constraints, timeline, and tooling well enough to explain them to others.

The course is available on Thinkific with one-year access. It works on mobile. Access arrives within minutes of purchase.

Morpho’s Track Record

Morpho has helped more than 1,100 founders launch products. The track record includes Écoute vacuum-tube headphones ($1 million on Kickstarter), BrainBlink (1,500 percent of its funding goal in eight hours), CubCoats ($70 million valuation), LastObject ($3.6 million in pre-sales), and Panda ($1.9 million in pre-sales). Morpho also supported RokBlok, which received a $500,000 offer on Shark Tank.

Every expensive mistake in manufacturing has already been made by someone. Most of them were made by the same person.

Morpho Campus is Josh Fairbairn’s attempt to make sure you do not have to repeat them.
