The 808Mafia sound guru had become the close collaborator of the late Juice WRLD up to his tragic death in 2019. The year after, Max Lord and his team around Nick Mira did their friend justice, turning the post-humous ‘Legends Never Die’ into a multi-platinum record. The reward – a Grammy award and dominating the billboard charts for weeks.
The sound master has been a part of the industry for almost a decade now. However, his real journey started around 2015 to 2017 when he came in contact with various hip-hop artists. Fredo Santana, Southside, and Juice WRLD were the most significant of his connections. In recent years, he has also received recognition for producing records of Cardi B, Young Thug, Halsey, and many other prominent industry greats.
With his affiliation to 808Mafia, as well as his resume, Max Lord is part of hip-hop history. But the award winning producer came to the industry because of his love for EDM and dubstep. Those were raging back in early 2010, and gave him his sound engineer knowledge and foundation. Electronic music, the focus being more on sound, gave him the insight to optimize artist’s results and session across other genres.
Southside, 808Mafia, FlyAVTR
His strong work with Southside and his label 808Mafia is a significant factor for the exhilarating career of Max Lord. But his passion for music is ever growing, and so is his network. FlyAVTR, the rising label of EDM star turned producer Simon Alex is another of his close collaborators. During his work with JuiceWrld, Max Lord was constantly breaking barriers, pushing at the frontier of contemporary music’s scenery. The type of role and natural excitement the producer is always looking for, in order for music not to feel like work for him. With an environment of similar minded people, the journey will go on for the audio talent.
