Henok (Henny) Yeshanew is the founder of Lion Marketing Agency. This company has been awarded as a Top Marketing Agency in Ontario in 2018 & 2019 by Canada Business Awards. Henny’s biggest achievements are providing guidance and resources to non-profit organizations and those in need through innovative marketing and technologies.
In his student years, Henok Yeshanew decided to go to university to become a lawyer. Boring, right ? In his last year as undergrad, he knew inside of him that becoming a lawyer was not his real passion and soon found out that helping others was a core, deep component of what he wanted to do with his life. He therefore decided to create his own business and leverage innovative marketing in doing so. In those years, Henny has been on several important stages providing valuable speeches on topics such as social media marketing, entrepreneurship, understanding and fixing issues related to immigration and many more.
His recognition is not only those prizes awarded to his agency, but also on a personal level this young individual was able to achieve astonishing results such as the title of Top 40 Under 40.
Winning the Top Marketing Agency and the Top 40 Under 40 awards are not the only achievement that he accomplished in just a few years of career. Henok was also featured on a Top News Channel in Ethiopia, where his roots come from. And this made him proud. Since then he managed to create a valuable network of successful people to get advanced guidance from and at the same time provide and offer his own value, for free.
The launch of a magazine that is focused on African history, traditions and stories is also the fruitful result of his hard work and dedication that literally never stop.
Every person in this world has a dream that they would love to fulfill. However many of them are “unable” to comply with such goals due to many different factors. They are afraid most times, they feel a total mistrust of themselves other times. Society imposes on them that their dream is too “utopian”. And it is easy to find all kinds of excuses that make you unable to pursue your dreams.
As a child, it is normal for us to be told what is right and what is wrong to educate ourselves in order to mature as an adult and keep our feet on the ground. But once we reach adulthood, we shouldn’t let anyone or anything tell us what to do.
Another venture of Henny is related to travel. Surely some of you have thought during your life “Well, I would love to go around the world as soon as I have money”. That’s why Henny is launching his travel company that picks students with the desire to travel but can’t afford it and help them by covering their expenses. In return they have to help different communities in need in their own local regions.
We asked Henny, at the end of our meeting, a short summary of what he thinks and what he sees in his present and future.
“In these years I have built a strong team of trusted people that surround me. Together we have delivered, day in and day out, great results to clients, friends, family and organizations. This sense of being a team and a family is what motivates me and gives me hope for the future to come. The awards are great but that feeling of moving together in the right direction is what makes me wake up happy in the morning. As an African-Canadian, I tried to open doors for younger generations and motivate them to take on new ventures, not set for us by parents or friends but by our core self.”
