Benefits of Maltese Residency

Having a permanent residency in Malta is a great thing. First of all, it grants visa-free travel all over the European Union, and within the much-vaunted Schengen Area. So if you’ve ever wanted to visit Paris, Amsterdam, or Warsaw, or to spend a month in the south of France, Maltese residency can help facilitate that. There are no border controls within the Schengen area, so you can travel hassle-free from country to country for up to three months at a time.

Another benefit is that you will be able to stay in Malta for as long as you like. You can set down roots, buy a home, find employment, start a business, and otherwise plan a life without any long-term concerns. And Malta is a great place to live, with great political stability, pleasant weather, and low crime. Of course, what would life be without your family? Luckily, you don’t have to go it alone, as another benefit of Maltese residency is that you can bring your spouse and children with you.

As great as Malta is, you don’t necessarily want to be tied down. But the advantage to establishing residency in Malta is that you aren’t required to reside there. Instead, you can come and go as you please, taking advantage of the strategic location to visit other nearby countries. Or travel around the world. Maltese residency is about opportunities, not obligations.

But if you do choose to reside in Malta, you can take advantage of their first-rate health care and education. If you have children that need to go to school, Malta is a great place for them to learn. And as a resident of Malta, you will be able to access many of their highly rated health care services free of charge. And you don’t have to worry about a language barrier, assuming you speak English, because English is an official language of Malta and spoken by 88% of the population. Aside from the ease of communication, life in Malta is very comfortable. The climate is typical of a country in the Mediterranean, with very mild winters and warm summers.

Residency in Malta is also a pathway to citizenship. After seven years of living in Malta as a permanent resident, you can apply for citizenship by naturalization. As Malta is in the E.U., that gives you and your descendants the right to travel, work, and live anywhere in Europe. The opportunities that are present, both economic and otherwise, are tremendous.

There are substantial benefits to Maltese residencies, like access to great social services, proximity to wonderful travel destinations, and great year-round weather. Whether you are looking for a new home, or you simply want to have a ‘Plan B’ that you can rely on, Maltase residency can offer you security and freedom.
