One young actress’ name is making it to the credits with major roles and features. Adi Alfa, a UK native, has been progressively making her way to the top. Born to a Nigerian father hailing from the state of Kogi and a Jamaican-Chinese-White mixed mother, she always had a dream of acting on the big screen. It was not until she decided to take a leap of faith in her twenties that her dreams ultimately became a reality. Today, she not only identifies as an actor but also a producer as well with her very own production company, Media Worx.
A post-university trip ended up summing up to more than just a compilation of good memories to look back on. It was essentially the shapeshifter that inspired Alfa to veer onto the path that has led her to where she stands today beneath the limelight. When she came back home, she booked an agent and the rest was history.
Alfa’s first acting gig was for a commercial. Ironically, Alfa didn’t even think she would get the role as in her words, she “really messed up.” However, in the words of the producers themselves, they took a liking to her, “authenticity and down to earth nature.” From that point on, Alfa went on to serve other acting roles that gave her more notoriety. The role that would end up being a big milestone marker for her was her role as the fiancee to the main character, Ortega, in Ortega and His Enemies. That role would go on to earn her an award title as “Best Actress in Beverly Hills Los Angeles” at NAFCA’s award ceremony which is also known as the African Oscars. Unbeknownst to Alfa during the acting process of Ortega and His Enemies, the feature film ultimately ended up being her big break.
Today, Alfa is pursuing an array of acting projects some of which her audience can expect to see on the big screen really soon. Starting in the upcoming new year, 2022, Alfa will start filming Finding Forever, a feature film, as well as new television series, Darlings of Sin. It is going to be a busy year ahead, one that her audience will want to keep their eyes tentative upon.
When Alfa is not busy acting out roles, filming, or composing scripts of her own, she identifies as a family gal. She is a proud and loving mother to a daughter whom she speaks so fondly of. In one interview where she was asked to name her biggest accomplishment so far, she replied, “my biggest accomplishment is being able to do what I love every single day as a creative human but more than that, bringing up the best human I’ve ever met, my daughter, to be the most gorgeous, caring, sweet, funny girl!”
Alfa hopes to inspire others to follow their dreams as well. For those looking to follow suit through a similar career path, she emphasizes with some golden advice, “be persistent, believe in your sauce and don’t give up! I would also say to always just shoot your shot, put yourself out there, and block out the noise. Everybody’s path is different!”
